Super Mario Run is now available on the App Store for the iPhone. It is the second mobile game of Nintendo in history and the first game of Mario on a mobile device.
Like any good Super Mario Bros. game, you have plenty of skill-based content: You’ll have to plan your strategy and learn your moves right on time if you want to get all the goodies at any given level.
Following the launch of Super Mario Run earlier this year on iOS, Nintendo recently announced that the game will hit Android this March. The company also announced its next mobile game, Fire Emblem Heroes. Nintendo made Fire Emblem Heroes official and revealed that the game will hit Android on February 2.
After a solid month of waiting, Nintendo announced that the game will be launched on Android in March. We do not have a specific date, which is unfortunate, but at least now we know that Apple’s exclusive agreement will come to an end approximately three months after the launch of the game.
Super Mario Run is free to download. You can play the first three levels of the world 1 and 20 seconds of the boss level for free; After that, you’ll have to unlock the rest of the game for $9.99. Believe me, you will want to buy this game once you have played 30 seconds of the first level. It will addict you!
The central point of the game is that it is a completely new and original story, which sees two fighting realms facing each other. The role of the user is to call the characters of Fire Emblem to battle.
Nintendo says the game features “new art, hand drawn by a variety of artists” as well as new recorded voices. The game has been optimized for smartphones with an 8×6 grid layout. Users will be able to drag a character to an enemy unit to attack or use more traditional onscreen controls. The game will also mark the return of the triangle of weapons of the series.
Details are still unclear regarding the game, but Nintendo today started a new “choose your legend” event on their website where users can vote for their favorite Fire Emblem versions of previous years. The characters that win this vote will be presented in 2017 with “special versions.”
Nintendo promised last year to launch 5 games in iOS for March 2017, although it revised that statement up to 4 games. So far, we’ve seen Miitomo, Super Mario Run, and now Fire Emblem Heroes. The fourth title is expected to be Animal Crossing.
Nintendo opened pre-registration for Super Mario Run on Android last month, but could not offer a specific release date. Although we do not have an exact date yet, we know it will arrive in March.
Fire Emblem Heroes will be free to play with optional purchases in the app. The game will hit the Google Play Store on February 2 and the iPhone and iPad soon.
