Change your twitter password and Secure your account now: Twitter sent a message to their 330 million accounts to change their password immediately after discovering an error from the encryption process. Twitter chief executive Jack Dorsey said the error occurred because the account password was written to an internal copy before undergoing encryption. Twitter confirmed the deletion of this copy as soon as it was discovered.
According to Twitter, the bug has been fixed and the company is conducting an internal investigation to ensure there are no signs of abuse or abuse by anyone.
If Twitter is compromised, password encryption provides an extra layer of protection. Keeping a copy of the password is a big security issue, as hackers take advantage of it to access sensitive information.“If all 330 million passwords are stored in an internal copy, that’s not a bug, but a security hole,” said Archie Agarwal, chief executive of ThreatModeler.
Now when you sign in to Twiiter, you will be asked to turn on account verification, as it prevents a stranger from signing in to your account from a new device without a verification code which will be sent to your phone.
In particular, you should create a new password by combining numbers and letters and special characters to increase the security of the account.
