Dell has presented in the framework of the Bett 2018 educational fair, held this week in London, its new series of laptops Dell Chromebook 5000, which launches the model Chromebook 5190. This Chromebook convertible 2in1 with 11-inch screen offers improved performance, battery life of more than 13 hours and advanced functions made to measure for the classroom environment.
The American company has highlighted that this Chromebook, like the rest of the components of its portfolio, has been subjected to rigorous hardness tests, and incorporates a scratch-resistant screen, reinforced hinges, a spill-resistant keyboard and a chassis designed to cope with falls.
According to Dell, this new series has been produced to withstand the common accidents that can happen in the classroom. For this, its robust chassis is capable of withstanding 1.2 meter falls and impacts up to 0.7 meters on a steel surface, which the manufacturer understands to be the approximate height of a desk on the hardest possible surface.
In addition, Dell has ensured that the Chromebook 5190 withstands 10,000 small crashes and survives damage simulations after four years of use by a student. The new series offers rear camera options for creating videos, support for smart pens, connectivity through USB Type-C ports and dual-core and quad-core Intel Celeron processors.
The Dell Chromebook 5190 will be available from next February.
