Former Trump Advisor Assumes Guilty Lie To FBI

Former Donald Trump National Security Adviser Michael Flynn today pleaded guilty about lying to the FBI , the day a federal judge said the retired general was cooperating with the U.S. justice system.

“Yes sir” General Flynn responded to a federal court in Washington today, after being accused by Special Prosecutor Robert Mueller on Thursday of providing “false, imaginary, and fraudulent” statements. Prosecutor Robert Mueller’s investigation is concerned with alleged Russian interference in the 2016 U.S. presidential election and the possible involvement in other top Trump Administration officials in the case.

Flynn’s decision to cooperate with Robert Mueller indicates that the retired general could play a role in expanding efforts to unravel the possible involvement in senior Trump officials and perhaps the President himself in Russia’s interference in the presidential campaign . Michael Flynn was investigated in a number of cases, including his lobbying on behalf of Turkey , but being accused only of making false statements already indicated that he was cooperating with Mueller’s investigation in exchange for indulgence.

Michael Flynn was Trump’s national security adviser for 24 days in January and February when the President fir him for hiding from Vice President Mike Pence his contacts with Russian Ambassador to Washington Sergey Kislyak.
