John Williams will be the composer of the main theme of Solo: A Star Wars Story.

In an interview, Williams revealed that he will work on the ninth Star Wars film, with John Powell behind the score.

“The plan is for me to write the main theme of Han Solo, while John Powell will work on the score, which I’m sure will be incredible,” said the composer.

As a context, Lucasfilm announced the incorporation of Powell a few months ago.

“His homework makes me extremely happy,” Williams said. “I will offer my work to John and Ron Howard, if everyone is happy with him, then I will be happy.”

Williams has composed the music of the eight main Star Wars films, including The Last Jedi. Michael Giacchino composed the music for Rogue One. For his part, Powell has worked on the entire Bourne franchise, as well as on How to Train Your Dragon, Ferdinand, among others.
