Honda has just unveiled a concept called Sports Vision Gran Turismo, a compact sports car with eye-catching design and 2.0-liter turbocharged engine. The front of the car impressed by the aggressive style similar to the NSX commercial super car. Two front air intake holes are designed to be large, connected to the main heat sink, and embody the LED headlamp.
Sports Vision Gran Turismo was designed by Honda’s studio in California, USA. In the video we can see Honda engineers doing a lot of design work to create a full scale, including wind tunnel testing. Honda Studio in the US only plays the role of car design, the development stage is done in Japan. Honda will widely use carbon fiber material to reduce weight of the car. Meanwhile, the engine is not expected to be a large displacement, but the DOHC I4 2.0 comes with turbochargers similar to the Civic Type R streetcar.
However, Honda’s top-of-the- 400 horsepower, the Civic Type R is only 315 horsepower, Gearbox is 8-speed double clutch. As the design of Sports Vision Gran Turismo is almost complete, Honda will now focus on developing suitable structures for commercial production. If it is soon to be commercialized, Sports Vision Gran Turismo promises to be a desirable sports car.
