True Detective Signs Stephen Dorff For Its Third Season: The American actor Stephen Dorff has been confirmed as part of the cast of the third season of the HBO series ‘True Detective‘. He will play Roland West, an Arkansas state investigator whose life and career, as well as those of his partner have been marked for more than three decades by a disconcerting crime.
For his part, he also appeared recently in the musical drama of the Fox, ‘Star’, and had roles in television shows such as Rosemary, Married with Children and Blossom during the early days of his career.
The actor joins the already confirmed members of the cast, Mahershala Ali and Carmen Ejogo. Ali who won an Oscar last year for his performance in ‘Moonlight‘. He will have the lead role, putting himself in the shoes of Wayne Hays, a detective with the Northwest State Police in Arkansas. On the other hand, he will play Amelia Reardon, a school teacher connected with two children who disappeared in 1980.
The third season, which still has no release date, will be directed by Nic Pizzolatto, who is also the creator and writer of the series. The executive production will also include Scott Stephens, Matthew McConaughey, Woody Harrelson, Cary Joji Fukunaga, Steve Golin, Bard Dorros and Richard Brown.
