Japanese broadcaster NHK has begun deploying first satellite service provider in the world with a resolution of 8K named “Super Hi-Vision”.
Besides testing channels, it also support 22.2 audio channels.
One of the content to be shown on Channel 8K “Super Hi-Vision” is the Kyary Pamyu Pamyu (a popular J-pop stars show), which is one of the focal points of the opening ceremony of the London 2012 Summer Olympics.
“Super Hi-Vision” will broadcast from 10am to 5pm. But, by now there is no any affordable device available for signal reception. NHK is implementing the public presentation centers throughout Japan.
TV stations are expected to organize events to showcase images from the Olympic Games in Rio upcoming 8K standard. It should also be recalled that broadcaster NHK is always a pioneer in making standards of high quality images.
NHK has begun to offer HD TV services from the ’80s, more than a decade before the standard is popular HD images on the display device family.
Even today 4K resolution was also the television station from 2012. And perhaps one fine day when TV became popular 8K, we will recall that NHK has provided services from 2016.
